4=5??

Theorem: 4 = 5
Proof:
-20 = -20
16 - 36 = 25 - 45
4^2 - 9*4 = 5^2 - 9*5
4^2 - 9*4 + 81/4 = 5^2 - 9*5 + 81/4
(4 - 9/2)^2 = (5 - 9/2)^2
4 - 9/2 = 5 - 9/2
4 = 5

its wrong la :P
You can't simply remove the ^2 like that. You must consider the plus minus.

Like just because

a^2 = b^2

It doesn't mean that

a = b

Maybe a = -b and b = -a

Like Mrs Koh always says.. squaring introduces extra answers :P
So must always check to see if the all the answers satisfy the equation.. In this case

-(4 - 9/2) = (5 - 9/2)

and

(4 - 9/2) = -(5 - 9/2)

are acceptable. But

-(4 - 9/2) = -(5 - 9/2)

and

(4 - 9/2) = (5 - 9/2)

are not.

where got 4 = 5 wan :P
